About

How we work has changed and so has the dress code. As our work and personal lives blend due, in part, to our use of personal communication and computer technologies, we need clothes that meet our lifestyle. For Fall 2010, Point. Clothing has developed seven pieces to fit the needs of modern working women.

Goals

Point. Clothing strives to meet the following goals, which are based on interviews with women who work in the high tech, new media and intellectual capital industries, as well as apparel industry research. Our goals are to manufacture clothing that is:

  • Fit for the average-sized woman
  • Multi-functional
    • Can be worn at the office, during the weekend and social events
  • Easy care
    • Machine washable and dryable
    • No or minimal ironing
    • Delicate wash and drip-dry
  • Flexible
    • Mixes and matches with other pieces in the line
    • Works with pieces in an existing wardrobe
  • Durable
    • Lasts 2 or more years
  • Functional
    • Garments with working pockets when it makes sense
  • Stylish
    • Basic pieces that have some style, but aren’t too dramatic
  • Green
    • Domestic production
    • Sustainable and natural fabrics (used when possible)
